Red Dwarf: Back to Earth Review - Where ‘Dave’ went wrong!

Like 2.2million others, I have been glued to the TV this weekend watching the LONG awaited return of Red Dwarf in ‘Back to Earth’ on the UK channel Dave (which is a commerical channel owned technically by the BBC). Even through I have been enjoying the latest instalments, I have to admit I would of enjoyed it a whole lot more if Dave hadn’t foolishly made some simple but devastating mistakes… Read the rest of this entry →

Idea to solve the ‘Logo Issue’: Digital Static

Back on Wednesday, I mentioned I was impressed with the Batman Begins Intro / Outro, however had concerns that as I didn’t have a logo for the Pixelated project, I might not be able to re-create / borrow / nick Mr Nolan’s idea about short introductions, and the films title at the end of the film. Thankfully, I think I have come up with an idea… Read the rest of this entry →

Email Replies Start to Fill up my Inbox

Just thought I would quickly report, that after waiting for a few days of waiting, my inbox is starting to fill up thick and fast from the individuals and organisations I contacted to be a part of the Pixelated documentary.

What has amazed me is that so many people are expressing their interest in participating - which for me is a little shocking. Because from my point-of-view, this is ‘just’ a student production, and yet these rather important and busy people are more than happy to donate their time to help produce this project.

At the moment, I am feeling rather honoured. Thank you guys & girls.
(As and when we have arranged times and dates of when the interviews are going to take place, I will tell you who is involved… I think you will be as surprised as I am!)

Batman Intro / Outro concept

Today, a few friends came over and after much debate, we ended up watching Batman Begins & Batman: The Dark Knight films back-to-back. And to be honest, I am glad we did. Read the rest of this entry →

Inspired by the ‘digital’ sound of Nine Inch Nails

I have to admit, I have never really listened to a Nine Inch Nails album. However, during my research, I came across an interview conducted by Kevin Rose of Digg and Diggnation fame, with Trent Rezner. The interview was part of the Digg Dialogg series which is a video production. Read the rest of this entry →

‘First Contact’ made…

It has taken 24hrs, but finally I have sent off the first batch of emails to all the people I am hoping to include within the Pixelated documentary. Mainly because I am contacting people who I admire, and so wish to ensure I make a good first impression via pixels - but also because of my dyslexia kept raising it’s ugly head. But now, there is nothing more I can do, the messages have been sent - and now all I can do is sit and wait.

I have decided that I won’t list the organisations and individuals I have contacted on here just yet - but they do span across all medias, from all walks of life, and from many different countries.

However, as and (hopefully) when I have been able to organise a time and date for each interview, I will announce the individuals here.

Drawing up the plans

Today has been very productive. I have spent most of the time drawing up a (very long) list of individuals and organisations that I hope will be generous enough to donate their time to be interviewed for the Pixelated documentary. In fact, the list was rather easy to draw up. I have decided that I would try to contact podcasts, websites, blogs, newspapers, and organisations that I use in my day-to-day life style – organisations that I have watched grow over time, or have become a fanboy for. The Journey Begins…

As part of my University course, we have been set the task to create a documentary on any subject we wish. Now this may sound rather simple, to produce a film on anything we wish, however when you have the opportunity to do so – suddenly your mind goes blank, and ideas are no where to be found.
